The boys paddled an even 48 miles today. It was a clear day under sunny skies. West even took off his shirt, at one point, to get some sun. They are camped next to a nice stream in the woods. The next town is a few miles up the road and they wanted to spend the night out of town. They are meeting friendlier people that are reaching out to them.
Today, starts the holiday season in Russia. Many people are taking off May 1-4 to celebrate the changing of seasons. West and Jeff at seeing more recreational groups out and about.
They had calm water the last 15-20 miles and it made for nice paddling.
